About
Welcome to Kargo MKT, a vibrant food hall nestled in the heart of Salford, United Kingdom. Located at Unit 32, Quays, Quayside Media City, this culinary destination captures the essence of Manchester’s diverse food culture. Kargo MKT offers a unique concept that sets itself apart in a city rich with food halls.
The atmosphere here is electric. As you step inside, you are greeted by an inviting ambiance that exudes warmth and community. One customer remarked on the “buzzing” atmosphere even late in the evening—a testament to Kargo MKT's magnetic charm. Whether you’re in the mood for an intimate meal with loved ones or a lively dining experience with friends, Kargo MKT caters to all.
The selection of food stalls is truly impressive, offering a plethora of cuisines without any overlap. From traditional favourites to niche culinary delights, there’s something for everyone. As one patron astutely noted, the hall presents cuisine options you may not ordinarily try, making it an approachable culinary adventure. Each stall operates independently, allowing guests to explore various tastes by ordering directly from the counters.
Not only is Kargo MKT a foodie haven, but it's also designed with comfort in mind. The ample seating arrangements—both indoor and outdoor—accommodate all group sizes. Guests can enjoy their meals in cozy booths or in open-plan areas, ideal for larger gatherings. The cleanliness of the venue stands out, with attentive staff ensuring that tables are promptly cleared—the little details make a big difference.
Moreover, Kargo MKT prides itself on being family and pet-friendly, adding to the laid-back atmosphere that patrons have come to love. Enjoying a meal while soaking in the glorious sunshine is a must during warmer months, and the diverse drink options available at the bar are the perfect accompaniment to your feast. With unique draught options and a friendly staff ready to serve, a visit here feels effortless.
If you’re seeking a place that combines quality, atmosphere, and variety, Kargo MKT is a destination worth visiting. It's not just about the food, but the experience—an opportunity to indulge in culinary exploration in a warm, welcoming environment. I left feeling satisfied and excited to return for another adventure in taste.
“ Kargo MKT is an awesome concept. Food halls aren’t new to Manchester - there are a few around - but this one has a great atmosphere that really stands out. The selection of food stalls is solid, with a nice variety and no overlap in what’s on offer. You order food directly from the individual counters, and drinks are handled separately at the main bar. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with cosy booths for smaller groups and open plan areas if you're in a bigger crowd. I visited around 8pm and it was still buzzing. It’s pet and family friendly, which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. One of the best things is the range of cuisines. There are some niche options you might not normally try, all in one place and in an approachable way. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it. The vendors close around 9pm, if they stayed open later, it could easily become one of Manchester’s go-to late night food spots. ”
“ @wongdumplings inside Kargo Market Food Hall Opposite Manchester United Football Club Stadium and close to The Lowry Theatre and Gallery, Salford Quays Lots of car parks around. We do love a good food hall with a world wide variety of food choices to try. It’s so clean in here with staff clearing tables away and returning plates/bowls to where they come from after washing them (what a good idea) Great music in the background and not too loud. Tables available inside and outside (nice in the sun). 10/10 handbag review for our food and the venue. Worth a trip out ”
“ This is one of my favourite places to visit in Manchester, the atmosphere is great! It’s easy to order and collect food from any of the food places. Prices are reasonable too and food is always great! ”
“ Great place for food and some drinks outside in the sun now the weather is getting nicer. Ordered from Fuego 1987, had the birria and chicken tacos, both didn’t disappoint. ”
“ A fantastic place and whether you’re looking for a quick bite to eat or a full evening and night out it’s great. The large bar in the centre serves a really wide range of drinks, including many more unique options on draught to help compliment the food choices and the prices are reasonable, along with the service being fast. When it comes to the food options I can’t think of a genre missing and every stall was fast with the service, huge portion sizes and everything cooked perfectly. Given the more independent nature the prices were reasonable and the whole evening was sociable and unique. I’ll certainly be returning and would recommend a visit to anyone! ”
“ Visted today, I had Korean fried chicken and rose tteokbokki from Bab Korean, and my son had the salt and pepper fries from What's your beef. The food was fantastic, very tasty, not too long a wait either. The only downside is that you need to go collect the food, so if you're alone and it's busy, you could lose your table whilst collecting your orders. ”
“ The food and the selection of different places is really good! Great location too. Would recommend visiting. ”
“ Wow, my first visit and won't be my last! We tried Birria Taco's from Fuego 1987, Rainbow Dumplings x 2 from Wong Dumplings and fried chicken wings from Nila's Kitchen. We shared between two of us and there was more than enough food. My friend took a dodgy bag home. It would be hard to pick a favourite but at a push I'd choose the Dumplings, perfectly seasoned, a taste explosion in every bite. The Taco's were a very close 2nd, the dippimg gravy enhances the flavours in the Taco's perfectly. Also they have happy hour Mon - Thursday 4pm till 7pm, we got a large wine & pint for 10. The service was great too, and someone is always coming by to clear rubbish & empties, even the queue at the bar for gappy hour went down quickly. This place is a 10 from me. ”
